trial and error...

Here are a few progress screenshots of me attempting to digitally fabricate a 'cityscape' image from scratch. Needless to say, it didn't go quite as planned. I ended up switching to digitally manipulate one of my own photographs instead, as I was not achieving the atmosphere that I had in mind.

I wanted to achieve a post-war/ghostly dystopian atmosphere, and with the tools and skills I currently have, I was unable to yet achieve this. After 3+ hours of playing around on illustrator, I decided to give this design a break, and experiment with something else. It seemed to be that I was focusing too much on the creation of the image, rather than experimenting with colour theory and typography placement, and using 'signifier' and 'signified'.
